Rutlandga went to court last month claiming that she did not feel 69 and says that her application to other forms of personal change that was accepted in the Netherlands and around the world, such as the ability to change their name or gender.
But in a written order, the court stated that the Dutch law defines age-based rights and obligations, "such as the right to vote and duty at school." If Ratlodge's permission is allowed, these age-specific needs will be meaningless. "
The trial acknowledged that "there has been a trend in the community for allowing people to stay fit and healthy for a long time, but did not consider this as a valid argument to correct a person's birthday," the court said.
It said Ratelband failed to convince the court that he suffers from age discrimination. It adding that "there are other alternatives available for challenging age discrimination, rather than amending a person's date of birth."
