Gegli news - Napalm girl - 7/26/2022 8:45:58 PM 8:45:58 PM

Kim Phuc Phan Thi had her final skin treatment fifty years after a napalm bombing during the Vietnam War.

The woman is from South Vietnam and is best known as the “Napalm Girl,” from Nick Ut’s infamous photograph. The photograph shows her as a nine-year-old child running naked on a road after being severely burned on her back by a South Vietnamese napalm attack on June 8, 1972.

South Vietnamese planes mistook the villagers for enemy soldiers, and they dropped napalm bombs. Kim suffered third degree burns as her clothes were incinerated in the blast. The picture won the Pulitzer Prize, and it became one of the most memorable images of the twentieth century.

Kim and Nick have remained friends. After decades of pain from the intense scars, Kim received the last skin treatment, and Nick was with her.
